CQMA’s October 11 season finale will celebrate young racers moving up while welcoming former drivers back to the track

The Capitol Quarter Midget Association will close its 2026 racing season with a celebration connecting generations of local racers.
CQMA’s End-of-Year Alumni Car Show & Demo will take place Sunday, October 11, at the association’s track at 800 G Street in Rio Linda. An event time has not yet been announced.
The season finale will honor the young drivers preparing to move up in the racing world while welcoming back alumni from CQMA and other historic Northern California quarter midget organizations.
Former drivers from CQMA, AQMA, TVQMA, Good Times, Baylands and other regional clubs are invited to return to the track where many young racers first learned how to compete.
Alumni are encouraged to bring their current race cars for a special car show and on-track demonstration. They will also have an opportunity to reconnect with old competitors, share their racing journeys and meet the next generation of children chasing the same dreams.
For decades, quarter midget racing has given young drivers an early introduction to competition, car control, sportsmanship and the work required behind the scenes to keep a race car running. Many participants eventually move into larger cars and higher levels of motorsports, but the local track remains where their racing stories began.
The October event will bring some of those stories full circle during CQMA’s final race of the year.
