RIO LINDA, CA – Calvary Lutheran Church, located at 515 L Street, invites the local community to join them for a series of special services and events commemorating Holy Week and Easter.
Under the theme “Open Arms, Open Hearts, Sharing the Good News of God’s Grace,” the church has planned a full week of reflection, fellowship, and celebration beginning at the end of March.
Schedule of Services
The community is welcome to attend the following events:
- Palm Sunday – March 29 at 10:30 AM The week begins with a traditional Palm procession, commemorating Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
- Maundy Thursday – April 2 at 7:00 PM A special Agape Meal will be held. This service focuses on the sacrifice of Jesus’ life and the call for believers to offer themselves in love for the world. Dinner is included with the service.
- Good Friday – April 3 at 7:00 PM A solemn service titled “WE ARE BELOVED WITNESSES” will be held in observance of the crucifixion.
- Easter Sunday – April 5 at 10:30 AM The week culminates in a celebratory Easter service focused on the transformation of darkness into light. Following the service, the church will host an Easter Egg Hunt for children and families.
