Joshua Macculloch and Jennifer Boddie lead the race for two seats on the Rio Linda/Elverta Community Water District board, with incumbent Vicky A. Young trailing in preliminary returns from Tuesday’s election.

Macculloch has 1,058 votes, just 17 ahead of Boddie’s 1,041. Young has 664 votes, followed by Nevaeh Moore with 285. Eight write-in votes were reported.

Boddie holds a 377-vote advantage over Young for the second available seat. Voters could choose up to two candidates.

All 11 precincts have partially reported, but that does not mean counting is complete. Neither seat should be considered decided.

Ashby holds substantial lead

In Senate District 8, Angelique Ashby leads Susan A. Mason with 102,052 votes, or 72.39%, to Mason’s 38,917, or 27.61%, in Sacramento County’s returns.

In Assembly District 6, Maggy Krell leads Jagtar Singh with 57,923 votes to 11,503. These figures reflect county returns, not separate Rio Linda or Elverta tallies.

It requires 55% approval.

For two North Highlands Recreation and Park District seats, Patrick B. Williams leads with 2,257 votes, followed by Joanna McVay with 2,052 and Sukdip “Steve” Chima with 1,201.

Local park seats uncontested

The county lists three qualified candidates for three Rio Linda-Elverta Recreation and Park District seats: Lisa L. Burnham-Morris, Troy Golden and Deanna Read. That contest did not appear on the ballot.

Counting continues

These results remain unofficial. The county report is dated 1:25 a.m. Nov. 4. The next scheduled update is Friday, Nov. 6, by 4:15 p.m.
