Christmas Parade Returns Dec. 12, Sponsors Needed

By John Todd | Rio Linda Online

Our hometown’s Christmas glow starts with neighbors willing to help make it happen.

The 11th annual RLE Hometown Christmas Light Parade is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, 2026, and organizers are asking local businesses and community partners to help support another evening of decorated floats, sparkling lights and families gathered along M Street.

For many in Rio Linda and Elverta, the parade has become a familiar part of the holiday season: children bundled in blankets, neighbors catching up along the street and participants turning their creativity into rolling Christmas displays.

Keeping that tradition going takes more than lights and holiday spirit. In a sponsorship appeal, parade organizer Tabitha Worth thanked past supporters and outlined the expenses donations will help cover this year:

  • Barricades to help keep spectators and parade participants safe.
  • A community Christmas tree to brighten our hometown.
  • Christmas decorations for decorative light poles, the parade route and judges’ area.
  • Parade awards recognizing participants’ creativity and hard work.
  • Lighting and event supplies to help the evening run smoothly.

“Every donation, big or small, truly makes a difference!” Worth wrote.

Organizers say sponsors will receive recognition through the parade’s website, social media and announcements during the event, along with a Certificate of Appreciation.

The appeal welcomes returning sponsors and others interested in helping sustain a tradition built around bringing our community together.

Businesses and residents interested in sponsorship opportunities can contact Tabitha Worth at 916-910-4900. Additional parade information is available at rlechristmasparade.com.
