Carlos Armando Solis passed away peacefully at his home in Rio Linda on February 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and friends.
Born in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, Carlos was a proud resident of Rio Linda for over 50 years. A devoted husband of 18 years, Carlos was the heart of his family—a natural peacemaker who cherished his roles as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.
Carlos was a cornerstone of the Rio Linda community. Over a storied 33-year coaching career, he mentored generations of athletes in girls’ high school basketball and fast-pitch softball, including the Cygnets and Pegasus travel teams. His leadership extended beyond the field; he served as President of Bobby Sox, ran for Honorary Mayor in 2010, and had the distinct honor of officiating 18 wedding ceremonies.

Professionally, Carlos was a respected Analyst and Trainer for the California Employment Development Department (EDD). Known for his patience and work ethic, he took great pride in helping others master new systems—including his beloved wife, Jennifer, whom he met at the EDD. A social soul who deeply valued his colleagues, he maintained long-standing traditions such as their annual Christmas reunion.
Carlos is survived by his wife, Jennifer; daughter, Jessica (Raymundo); and grandson, Jackson. He also leaves behind his sisters, Gloria (Tim) and Magdalena; brothers, Javier, Ernesto, and Freddy; and a large, loving extended family of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Olga and Javier Solis, and his four granddaughters: Cuba, Havana, Valeria, and Angel.
