Calling All Rio Linda & Elverta High Schoolers: Showcase Your Skills in the 2025 Resume Contest!


RIO LINDA, CA – Get ready to craft your future! The Rio Linda Elverta Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce its 2025 Resume Contest, a fantastic opportunity for local high school students to hone their resume-writing skills and win cash prizes.

This competition invites students in grades 9-12 to create and submit their best professional resume for a chance to be recognized and rewarded. It’s a perfect way to prepare for future job applications, internships, and college admissions.

Are You Eligible?

The contest is open to all students currently enrolled in grades 9 through 12. Each student must submit their resume individually; group submissions will not be accepted.

How to Impress the Judges: Submission Essentials

To ensure your entry is considered, please adhere to the following requirements:

  • Electronic Submission Only: Email your resume to RLEChamberResumeContest@gmail.com.
  • Mark Your Calendars: The submission window is from May 1, 2025, to May 31, 2025. All entries must be received by 11:59 PM on May 31, 2025.
  • Keep it Concise: Resumes must be a single-page document.
  • Format Matters: Submit your resume in PDF format.
  • Originality is Key: All submitted work must be original. Plagiarism, or the use of a template not created by the student, will result in disqualification. The use of AI to generate the resume is also prohibited.

The Rio Linda Elverta Chamber of Commerce is offering cash prizes for the top three entries:

  • First Place: $400
  • Second Place: $200
  • Third Place: $100

  • Professional Conduct: All participants are expected to engage in the competition respectfully and professionally. Any form of cheating, dishonesty, or plagiarism will lead to immediate disqualification.
  • Optional Cover Letter: Participants may choose to submit a brief, one-page cover letter explaining their resume. While not required, it’s an opportunity to provide additional context.
